I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT.) I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Communications in 2002 and received a Masters in Counseling degree at MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2015.
In 2016, I completed the Play Therapy Certification program at MidAmerica Nazarene University to become a Certified Play Therapist.
I am a Level 2 Trained EMDR Therapist and completed my training ‘Healing Trauma with Guided Drawing’ with the Institute for Sensorimotor Art Therapy in 2023, and now regularly use this process in art therapy sessions.
I am also an active member of the Association for Play Therapy, the American Counseling Association, the Kansas Counseling Association , and the EMDR International Association. I have been working with children and their families since 2015.
My primary theory of practice is called Child-Centered Play Therapy (also known as Non-Directive Play Therapy) and Person-Centered Therapy for teens and young adults. I am passionate about helping others and have found that my greatest strength is my ability to connect and form genuine relationships with my clients.
