Group Therapy Session

Guided Drawing: A Pathway to Trauma Recovery

35 US dollars
South Mur-Len Road

Service Description

In this class, you’ll connect with the story your body holds—not just the story in your mind. Using oil pastels, paint and guided visual meditation, you’ll focus on how your body feels rather than what the drawing looks like. *The class is designed for individuals aged 18 and older. Trauma and PTSD can feel like your body’s survival system getting stuck after overwhelming experiences. While our brains have ancient tools designed to help us cope, modern life sometimes makes it hard for these natural responses to work smoothly. This session isn’t about revisiting what happened in the past—it’s about tuning into what you need right now. Through rhythmic, sensory-motor drawing using both hands, you can release tension, calm your nervous system, and ease feelings like agitation and hyperarousal. Bilateral drawing engages both sides of the brain, making it easier to process and integrate difficult experiences. With ongoing practice, guided drawing supports your brain’s ability to adapt and heal, helping develop healthier responses to stress. Throughout the process, you’ll be held in a safe, supportive space that encourages self-discovery, self-compassion, and emotional resilience.
